Sleazy Talks Fall TV

Sleazy talks fall_edited-2

So now that summer is pretty much over we can now look forward to all of our fall favorites on the tube as well as many more that will hopefully become our favorites. I’ll share with you some of my favorite shows, new ones that I’m personally looking forward to, And I’ll give you the run down on some popular shows. That said, let’s take a look at some of the shows that are returning, some shows that are new, and we hope will stay around for a while.

Let’s start off with what I think is personally the best show on television right now… The Walking Dead! We at NerdKO are really hyped for this one. For more in depth information, check out our article In anticipation of The walking Dead Season 3
With the crew of the Walking Dead pretty much having to start over this year, it makes way for one of the most anticipated premieres of the series. We will see new characters being introduced along with a new sanctuary for the crew. The challenge still remains for Rick to keep everyone alive! If you haven’t checked this show out do yourself a favor and drop whatever you’re doing in your free time and check it out. The Walking Dead premieres October, 14th at 9pm on AMC!

Dexter

America’s favorite cereal killer returns! After last year’s finale fans have to be wondering how this show can keep going. Don’t fear though, the show is signed for this year and the following. Be prepared for a lot to go down as our favorite psychotic forensic Blood Splatter analyst “slash” killer tries to maintain his job, a normal life, and Father, while keeping up with his murderous addiction of offing like minded criminals at night! You can catch Dexter on Showtime starting September, 30th at 9pm!

Doctor Who

Here at NerdKO Doctor Who is one of our favorite shows to gather up and watch together. This is the 7th season since the franchise was brought back in 2005. So far, this season has picked up where it left off last year. We’re 3 episodes in and every episode has been action packed and fun! If you’re any type of fan of Sci-Fi then this show is for you! I would however recommend you watch through the earlier seasons as you may be lost starting in the middle! If you have a Netflix account you can watch series 1-6 on instant queue. You can catch all new episodes of Doctor Who Saturday nights at 9pm on BBC One and BBC America!

How I met your Mother

Now in it’s 8th season, we’re all still wondering how did Ted meet his children’s Mother? Well for all the fans out there we’re one step closer. This may be the final season even though CBS wants to keep the long and running, popular sitcom around for a 9th season! So, look for more stories to unfold on How I met your Mother. Which may ultimately lead to the answer we’ve all been dying to hear the past 7 years! September, 24th at 8pm on CBS

Boardwalk Empire
I personally love this show! Steve Bucsemi is at his best as Nucky Thompson an Atlantic County Treasurer in the 1920s Prohibition era who’s lavish lifestyle catch’s the eye of the Federal Government. If you love gangster movies or are intrigued by the old mafia stories, then this show is definitely for you! I feel like it’s one of the more underated show’s that a lot of people don’t watch because it’s on a premium channel. Do yourself a favor. Call your cable provider and sign up for HBO NOW!  Boardwalk Empire can be seen starting Sunday September, 23rd at 10pm on HBO.

Community

I can’t tell you how excited I am this show didn’t get cancelled! It was stuck on Thursday nights the past couple of years competing with the CBS monster hit Big Bang Theory. So of course that meant no big ratings, which networks hate to see. I truly believe that the possible move to Friday night is probably the best thing for Community. Plus a shorter series might help keep audiences drawn in every week. This show is full of great comedy and nerd references! If you haven’t watched any Community yet you can pick up the first couple of seasons pretty cheap. It’s worth catching up on!
Community premieres on NBC on Friday October, 19th at 8:30pm.

NBC Thursday Nights

Since we just talked about Community, Let’s go ahead and talk about Community’s old Neighbors. We’ll start off with The Office. In it’s 9th and final season.  I’m sad to report this to any of our readers who didn’t already know. This has been one of my favorite shows since it started. Even though last year didn’t seem to have the same thunder it had with Steve Carell, it was still funny! No one wants to see their favorite show go off air. But I personally think it’s time for The Office to close up shop. That doesn’t mean that I wont be dropping everything I’m doing and glueing myself to the TV for this season though! I fully plan on catching every episode this year and seeing what happens to the cast each week. you can catch The Office farewell season premier on September, 20th on NBC at 9pm.

Parks and Recreation

Let me start out by saying I’ve loved this show from the beginning! Even though it didn’t really hit it’s stride until Rob Lowe joined the cast later on the series. I’ve practically BEGGED friends to watch this show. Once they watched, they thanked me fully for the recommendation! It’s hard to believe that this show is on the chopping block just about every year. If your schedule is free on Thursday nights CHECK IT OUT! I guarantee you’ll laugh. You can catch Parks and Recreation right after The Office on NBC Thursday September, 20th at 9:30pm.

30 Rock

30 Rock was renewed for a 7th and final season! So we get to see one more year of our favorite actors, writers, and television executives..oh yeah, and pages!
Alec Baldwin is genius in this show! I actually enjoy this show so much I would rather let the episodes build up and watch it all at once. rather than watch it one episode at a time! I can;t stand waiting! If you need a good laugh you can jump right in and watch this show at any time. Catch the Final season of 30 Rock starting October 4th on NBC at 8pm.

I couldn’t find a stand alone promo for 30 Rock, so I’ll give you something more! The full NBC primetime preview. You can catch previews from the new shows Go on, The Revolution and all of your favorites!

Speaking of Revolution, I was able to watch the pilot for this show the other night! I was glued to the TV from start to finish. I think this is going to be one of the next big shows on television. The basic story line starts out with everyone enjoying all of the gadgets that we all take for granted. Then out of no where the power goes out! The show fast forwards to 15 years later. The government has been overthrown and Militia’s control different areas of the country. I don’t want to spoil it for you, so I’ll stop there.
I just hope that NBC keeps this show around for the story to develop! NBC had a show called The Event last year that was really good and cancelled it because of ratings. (For the record, if you haven’t seen The Event check it out on Netlfix instant queue.)
Catch Revolution on NBC Monday nights at 10pm.

Last Resort

Last Resort looks very interesting. It’s about U.S. Submarine that receives orders to nuke Pakistan. After refusing the orders when they aren’t sure who they’re taking them from, The submarine is attacked by another U.S. Ship! This show looks like it could be as tense as 24, and if it can be THAT good, I’m in on this one. The problem is ABC has put Last Resort on Thursday nights up against NBC and CBS. I just don’t see this getting the ratings it needs to survive. I personally only expect this show to make it only one year or be moved to another day with less competition. Regardless, you may want to check it out, September, 27th on ABC at 8pm.

Arrow

If you’re a Smallville fan and missing the excitement of your superhero fix for the week. I guess you can look forward to Arrow. Not to be confused with the green arrow from Smallville. This is a reboot of the character to form a completely different series. I’m going to save my judgement for another day. I never thought Smallville would last as long as it did. With the CW’s huge following of the younger generation Arrow might catch on and become a popular show. Wednesday, October 10th on the CW at 8pm.

Supernatural

So I just started watching this show last year. I made A deal with a friend that if I watched Supernatural, they in return would watch Doctor Who. I’m glad I made that deal. I caught most of Supernatural on Netflix. I went through them so quick I was able to catch up with it on TV. Last year it was moved to Friday nights, which we all know is certain death for a TV show! I guess you can only spin off ghost stories and the bible so many times before you run out of material. None the less, it’s still a great show! I personally look for this to be the last year unless ratings are high and they can work a deal out to resign Jared Padalecki & Jensen Ackles. Catch Supernatural on it’s new night October, 3rd at 9pm.

Big Bang Theory

The CBS monster hit show Big Bang Theory is back for what looks to be another great season! With it’s huge following and off the chart ratings. You can look forward to another great year of  the nerdiest show on TV today!

Modern Family

If you’re looking for a new comedy to watch. Check out Modern Family! This show is a comedy about 3 families (all related) and the issues they battle on daily basis. The series has actually won a couple of Emmy Awards and a Golden Globe Award. So if that’s not a good enough resume for your taste, I DON’T KNOW WHAT IS! Catch Modern Family on ABC September, 26th 9pm.

New Girl

I caught this last year with one thing in mind …watching Zoey Deschanel! I won’t lie folks, I’m fan of Zoey mostly because of her looks. But I will say I’ve enjoyed her in just about everything she’s been in. Needless to say I jumped all over this show when it aired last year. It’s a fun comedy with a great supporting cast. I don’t see it going for many years but I think it will be a nice series to blend in with Fox’s other hits.
Catch New Girl on Tuesdays Starting September, 25th at 9pm.

FX Thursday Nights

The League

Any one that plays fantasy football can relate to this show. Not only the humor but the ridiculous lengths some people will go through with to win at fantasy football. The League in it’s 4th season now, should be as good as ever. If you’re fan of raunchy comedies then look no more to FX on Thursday nights! Premiere date October, 11th at 10:30pm on FX.

It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia

It’s Always Sunny is perhaps one of the shows I’m looking most forward to. In my humble opinion, it’s one of the best comedies on television today. I caught on to this show last year after a friend hounded me to watch it. Just about every episode has a laugh till you cry and can’t breathe scene in it. After watching through this series I don’t know how I missed it for 6 years! Needless to say when I finished it last spring I was left waiting for more Sunny. Almost like a drug addict needing their fix! I can’t wait to finally get that fix on Thursday October, 11th at 10pm on FX.

It’s funny after writing this article I realize that I watch entirely way too many shows! My goal in this, is to hip others to shows they might have not have heard of or haven’t had the chance to watch. With the ever growing demand of great television now days, many networks have many shows! Now, what I want from YOU, the reader, is to point out a show or shows I missed. Let me and the rest of the readers know what shows you’re in to! There’s so much out there I’m sure i missed something! That’s all I have for you for now. Please leave your feedback below and lets talk TV!

P.S I will not be commenting on GLEE!
